Meet Eli Reich, founder and owner of Alchemy Goods. A Northwesterner to the core, he grew up on Mercer Island and is a true “bike nerd.”
Alchemy Goods’ mission is simple: “Turning useless into useful.” Just as alchemy is the medieval science of turning lead into gold, Eli and his team look for materials that are normally discarded and turns them into something of value with a little bit of imagination and some hard work.
Alchemy Goods recycles bicycle inner tubes, seatbelt straps and reclaimed vinyl mesh signage into functional works of (mostly waterproof, which is nice here in Seattle) art: messenger bags, tote bags, wallets and card holders. Curious about just how many inner tubes they have recycled?
