ABRA HANDLER
Abra wears many hats: manager, store buyer, mom, family cook, locavore, volunteer, mahjong queen.
Working for a company with a deep commitment to sustainability meshes well with her personal values; she buys local, supports small businesses and uses organic products when possible. Her favorite products at NuBe Green include Cardboard Design’s furniture and In2Green’s throws. Abra also does a lot to support the community; she is involved in the arts, volunteers at her children’s schools and helps out local charities committed to helping women and children in need. She loves being in the middle of the eclectic energy and constant change of Capitol Hill, but also taking it easy at home with her two kids.
Sustainability tip: Buy locally when possible – that goes for produce, clothing, anything and everything.
